Olivia Vanni is a staff photographer and photo editor at the Everett Herald. Born and raised in Seattle, Olivia studied journalism at the University of Montana, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a minor in Women’s Studies. After graduation, she completed internships at The Victoria Advocate in Texas and the Naples Daily News in Florida before starting her staff job at the Everett Herald.

Olivia is the recipient of the City of Everett’s Mayor's Arts Awards. She was nominated by community members for her work around Snohomish County in recognition of how her work has improved the local community through her creativity, vision, and patronage.

Olivia currently freelances covering professional sports in the Pacific Northwest for Getty Images and Major League Baseball in addition to working with the Seattle Reign on seasonal coverage. She has a passion for stories in women’s sports, having received a NW Excellence in Journalism award for her long-term photo essay documenting a local UFC fighters’ journey back to the octagon after pregnancy.

Her byline has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Associated Press and USA Today. Olivia is currently available for freelance assignments.
